Chelsea: How Frank Lampard could lineup next season
The summer transfer window will be the turning point for Lampard’s fortunes especially with the statement signing of Ziyech
Wingers: Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic
Ziyech was an integral part of Ajax’s charge to the Champions League semifinals last season. He has played 31 games this season domestically, scoring 8 goals and 16 assists with a pass success rate of around 76%.
Ziyech successfully pits up against Europe’s elite. In the 2018/19 season for Ajax, his number of dribbles per game (6.3) was far better to both Riyad Mahrez and Bruno Fernandes. At the same time, he has registered more assists (13) than both Nicolas Pepe and Christian Eriksen. His experience in the Eredivisie can help the Blues’ attack compete at the highest level.
Pulisic was induced to the Premier League for a hefty fee, which means Chelsea has a vision of him in its long-term plan. When on the field, Pulisic is a difference-maker. The American is very good at dribbling defenders and has a high soccer IQ. The one thing that should concern fans is his injury history. He has played 29 matches and scored eight goals.
Hudson-Odoi is one of the best amongst Chelsea’s young core playing for England at 18. Hudson-Odoi is the one most capable of powering past opponents, at shielding and protecting possession, and at driving through free spaces. He has had injuries affect his current season but will look to fulfil his potential once the season resumes.
Pedro has been the dark-horse under every Chelsea manager since coming from Barcelona. He might not be the most influential player in the team but has scored and impacted the team’s performance several times. He has scored 29 goals and scored in the Europa League final as well.
