Right-back: Hector Bellerin

I do predict that Arsenal will lose Ainsley Maitland-Niles this summer, as he quite frankly isn’t getting the game time he deserves and it doesn’t look likely that he’s part of Mikel Arteta’s long-term plans. That said, it may be wise to invest in a backup right-back.

Either way, Arsenal are safe with Hector Bellerin in the XI. He is rather injury-prone, but when he’s playing, the team looks all the better for it. His electrifying pace allows him to track the runs of his opposing player and he isn’t afraid to put his body on the line to protect the defence either.

Centre back: David Luiz

While there is talk of losing David Luiz this summer, I hope the board decide against it. Luiz, while many may try to claim otherwise, has been our best defender this season. His playing style may be the most glamorous but he gets the job done, as well as showing an immense ability to pass the ball forward and break the lines.

Centre back: William Saliba

I don’t think there’s any hiding that fans are excited to welcome back William Saliba and see him play his first game in the Premier League. He absolutely dominated his loan spell back to Saint Etienne and was by far and away the best young defender in Ligue 1 this season.

Let’s hope he continues this for Arsenal in the Premier League, but I don’t have an ounce of doubt in my mind about that.

Left-back: Kieran Tierney

Tierney is nearing full match fitness and if he has a strong summer’s pre-season, if that’s even a possibility, then he will surely start out wide for Arsenal. He is the best left-back by a long-shot, and I don’t think we will be able to sign a better full-back than him this summer.

Tierney will be key to bombing forward, as he often does, and pelting a pinpoint cross into the attacker. Bukayo Saka can fill the void if need be, but Sead Kolasinac should be sold to raise some much-needed funds.
