Midfielder: Lucas Torreira

Perhaps this is more wishful thinking than absolute certainty, but I hope Lucas Torreira stays. He is important to cover the Arsenal backline and to get involved in any midfield 50/50 battles, which he tends to come out on top of.

Torreira has been given significant game time under Mikel Arteta, as this is the position which the new boss wanted to add some stability to. He has partnered Xhaka well, and there has been no issues in this area of the pitch. However, since he is known to desire a move away at some point, only time will tell.

Midfielder: Granit Xhaka

I labelled Granit Xhaka as my most improved player of the season and although the season is not over, I stand by that. Under Arteta, the Swiss international has shown so much improvement and he has won back the hearts of fans after that Crystal Palace incident.

He may not be captain material just yet, but he will only continue to make amends to the fans, and I truly believe that he does love this club as much as he says he does. Xhaka will start next season.

Midfielder: Orkun Kokcu

Okay, finally a new signing!

Orkun Kokcu is an affordable option and while he is no Thomas Partey, I do believe that Arsenal will benefit from signing him just as much. He is everything the Gunners need to complete a balanced midfield.

Where Torreira will help defensively with his duel-winning, Xhaka will help progressively with his dictation of play and Kokcu will help offensively with his ability to bring the ball forward and create chances for the attackers.
