Chelsea will face Aston Villa on their first league game back.

Chelsea sits fourth in the Premier League table and they will feel confident that they can secure a Champions League spot for next season. The fans will have felt hard done by as they were in some impressive form heading into the Coronavirus halt, making progress in both the Premier League and the FA Cup.

It may be easy to forget just which Chelsea players were on form before the break because, with everything that’s gone on in the world, it feels like a lifetime ago since the Blues played a competitive match.

Without further ado, here are 5 players that will benefit from a return to action.

5. Billy Gilmour

Billy Gilmour feels like a sure starter in the match against Aston Villa, although he was that important heading into the Coronavirus break, that Frank Lampard may feel the need to rest him for the game against Manchester City just 4 days later.

While it’s still early days, a number of comparisons can be drawn between Gilmour and Lampard as players. Gilmour showed an immense ability to bring the ball forward with his dribbling exploits, before popping the ball off to his fellow attackers. This will be particularly important in the quest to finish in the top four.
