Ranking the 10 most expensive players in the Premier League

#7 Roberto Firmino (Liverpool) – €118.5 million
The Brazilian is criminally underrated. And even though his numbers from the 2019/20 season don’t really set the Thames alight, he’s important to Liverpool in more ways than just goals. Firmino is one of the best all-round players and has also bailed his side out on multiple occasions this season by netting late winners, including in the all-important Club World Cup final. His importance to the Brazil side has grown exponentially too, as he wasn’t even a regular until the 2018 World Cup, but started every game for the Canaries in last year’s Copa America triumph.
#6 Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur) – €118.7 million
Injuries may have hampered Harry Kane this season but his reputation as one of the best strikers in Europe remains spotless. He hasn’t let up one bit since bursting onto the scene in 2014 and with 136 goals in the Premier League already, has ample time to get anywhere near Alan Shearer’s all-time record. On the international stage too, Kane has become the indispensable attacking outlet for the Three Lions, netting 32 times in just 45 caps, and is assured of starting berth for many more years.
#5 Sadio Mane (Liverpool) – €139.2 million
The impact which Mane has had with Liverpool can simply be ascertained when you see his current value is three-and-a-half times more than what was paid to get him from Southampton. That’s because the Senegalese has been an incredibly clutch player for the side, and also posted increased scoring rate each year – 13, 20, 26, and now 18, which is only set to improve further once the season reconvenes. He is widely touted to be the best winger in the circuit right now, something which got more credence after winning the ‘African Player of the Year’ award this year.
