Thuram to continue his hot streak?

Gladbach might be running on fumes right now, but Marcus Thuram has been firing at all cylinders. He has directly accounted for 50% of the goals scored since the restart and will be the single biggest threat coming from the visitors.

Roped in from French side Guingamp last summer, the 21-year old has had an incredible breakthrough this season. He is currently the top-scorer of the side with 14 goals, 10 coming in the league alone whilst also laying eight assists, and has even proved to be an excellent complement to Alassane Plea in the attack.

Strong in the air and possessing an eye for a pass, Thuram, son of former World Cup-winner Lillian Thuram, has set the stage alight with eye-catching dribbles. He times his tackles to perfection and expertly recovers possession, while his ability to drive into pockets of spaces with consummate ease has helped create plenty of gilt-edged chances too in the final third.

His top-notch performances have also earned him five ‘man of the match’ awards, the most in the league behind only four players.

The Frenchman has particularly been on a tear after the break and if Bayern’s defense is as susceptible as its been in the recent games, then he’s going to be a real throne in the flesh. Either way, this will be an interesting duel.
