5. Eric Bailly

The talented defender has missed 62 matches for United since he transferred from Villarreal for $41.8 million in 2016. Most recently, he had knee surgery last summer and had just returned to action before the break.

Eric Bailly has been participating in training with the first team since the squad was allowed to start match preparations. Per Solskjaer, he is back to full fitness.

The Ivory Coast defender had shown tremendous pace, technical skill, and defensive intuition as one of La Liga’s emerging top center-backs before moving to Old Trafford. When he has been able to don the red shirt for United, he has shown supporters glimpses of that ability.

The extended break has provided Bailly more time to recover and stay fit before resuming full training and match play.

He may be the perfect backline partner for Harry Maguire as his skill-set complements the Englishman like a kitten to milk.

There is no doubt that Bailly will be allowed to show everyone that he can still be a top-flight defender for United. Do not be surprised to see him on the field against Tottenham on the 19th.
