2. Marcus Rashford

Now Marcus Rashford is back to pick up where he left off.

The 22-year old home-grown talent had 19 goals and six assists in all competitions for United before his injury. He led the squad in expected goals, non-penalty expected goals, shots, shots on target, and non-penalty expected goals plus expected assists per 90 minutes.

The loss of the left-winger was nearly devastating for a United club that was on the upsurge. His emerging ability to read defenders, in addition to his talent and technical skills could not be replaced.

Credit must be given to Manchester United’s players and Solskjaer for making the adjustments to maintain the momentum that led to their unbeaten streak before the pause in play.

However, it is all hands on deck for the Red Devils as they need all the offensive firepower they can get during the re-start.

The United mid-field now has the creativity and toughness necessary to feed Rashford the ball in the final third on a more consistent basis. To have Fernandes as a conduit to the English international is sure to bring positive dividends.

Marcus has been roasting his teammates on the pitch in friendlies with his speed, skill, and flexibility. The break gave him the time to come back from significant injuries while there were still games that mattered to be played.
