RW: Nicolas Pepe

Nicolas Pepe has a point to prove in this match. When he was signed from Ligue 1, fans were expecting very big things but his tally hasn’t been impressive. In all honesty though, he has been a good signing. The media is often harsh on him but if you watch his involvement on the pitch, he’s very efficient.

If Arsenal choose to fight fire with fire, then Pepe could easily give the City full-backs a run for their money. After all, he has successfully embarrassed some of the best names in the game this season, including Virgil van Dijk.

ST: Alexandre Lacazette

Alexandre Lacazette is another player who will be excited to return to football. Heading into the break, he was starting to hit a good run of form as I recall (coming out of a dry patch). He won’t be too fazed by the competition, as Arsenal can usually count on him to score against the big teams.

Let’s just hope he can get the better of Ederson in this match.

LW: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

I say left-wing, but there’s no doubting that Aubameyang will drift centrally. There’s no problem with this, of course, given his natural role is as a striker.

Aubameyang is linked with a move away from Arsenal this summer, with many big European clubs interested in his name. He will only use this as motivation, of course, and he will be focused on providing for Arsenal for as long as the decision is made. Aubameyang is always a frightening striker to play against, so we shouldn’t rule Arsenal out of this one.
