Chelsea could have an exciting attack department next season.

Chelsea initiate talks with the entourage of Said Benrahma over a move to the London club, Mohamed Bouhafsi reports. With Brentford yet to receive an official bid for the Algerian winger, the Blues have conveyed their formal interest to the Championship club.

Also, Leicester City and Arsenal are said to be interested in signing the 24-year-old, who has 10 goals and eight assists in the ongoing Sky Bet Championship campaign (stats via TransferMarkt).

Known for his nimble footedness and silky dribbling abilities, Benrahma is a right-footed winger who is equally capable of either cutting inside from the left side to have a shot at goal or glide past players and deliver crosses inside the box.

More from Chelsea FC

With Pedro and Willian set to leave the Stamford Bridge after a successful spell, Chelsea are planning to reinvigorate their attacking department, securing the services of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner(pending official confirmation) alongside the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Christian Pulisic ready to represent Blues’ attack long-term.

Despite the pursuit of Said Benrahma, Jadon Sancho was considered Chelsea’s prime target to fill the void left by the departure of Eden Hazard to Real Madrid. However, Borussia Dortmund’s tough stance on the transfer fees- believed to be in the region of 100 million euros- proved to be a sticking point.

Also, recently, Kai Havertz, keen to test himself in the Premier League, has been linked with a move to the London club. However, recent reports suggest the young attacking midfielder has chosen to take a big step in his home country, with Bayern Munich deemed close to attaining the services of the 21-year-old.
