#2 Xherdan Shaqiri

Xherdan Shaqiri was acquired from Stoke for five-year contract after activating his £13.5 million release clause. He has been the backup player for most of the time at Anfield but has added to his trophy collection. He has been linked with a potential move with the likes of Leicester City and Galatasaray interested.

He wants to stay at Anfield and play under Klopp but with the coronavirus pandemic, there is a shortage of funds and he might be offloaded for the same. Shaqiri will need to get into good form to fight for a place or even secure a big-money move to one of the Premier League teams.

#1 Takumi Minamino

More from Playing for 90

In 2019, Liverpool agreed with Salzburg a deal to sign Takumi Minamino after activating his £7.25 million release clause. He was assigned jersey number 18 and was compared to former player Dirk Kuyt. He hasn’t had a lot of chances to showcase his talent subject to several substitute appearances.

He likes to play an advanced number ten position and will look to find spaces in between defences. The Japanese starlet makes 2.72 dribbles per game, with 55.6% of them are successful. Minamino has an incredible first touch and the vision to make use of it, with space interpretation and the technical qualities to utilize his mental skills.

The aspect what makes the Japanese dangerous is that he’s able to connect all these talents in a particular situation to generate a real threat for Liverpool’s opponents. Despite all this, he will have to fight against the likes of Mane, Firmino and youth players like Curtis Jones to consolidate a place in the starting lineup.
