2. Mason Mount

While there is still a lot of talk over whether or not Chelsea will sign Kai Havertz, Mason Mount shouldn’t be too disheartened. He still has what it takes to be a star and if anything, his fine work this season will sway Chelsea into thinking they don’t need to sign Havertz. They’d be right in thinking so too.

I can’t image a Chelsea side next season without Mount in it. In fact, I would even go as far as saying that Lampard should build his side around the young Englishman. His creativity is key and he’s also becoming more confident in front of goal by the week.

There was a time at the start of this season where Mount and Tammy Abraham were scoring all the goals and providing all the assists. This pretty much set the path for Chelsea’s season, with Lampard knowing that building the squad around young players was the way to go.

I don’t know what Chelsea’s stance is on Havertz, but it seems like the media is amplifying the rumours day by day. I do believe, though, that if the Blues do sign Havertz, Lampard can’t let this get in the way of Mount’s future. There must be a way to include them both in the starting XI.
