#2 Solskjaer’s vision of building a young squad for long-term

Since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson from Old Trafford in 2013, Manchester United lost their way as they shifted their philosophy of building a Galactico squad- a collection of readymade stars to challenge for elite trophies.

But, it proved to be an unfruitful decision as players lost their appetite for success after being awarded a lucrative paycheck to represent the prestigious badge of Man United- built on the foundations of tradition and culture.

Luckily, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took the daring step to reset the proceedings at Old Trafford and reintroduced the importance of knowing the history of Man United and working hard for your teammates to go alongside your talent.

To execute his philosophy, Solskjaer has targeted young and humble players who are eager to learn and sacrifice themselves for the greater good of the team. So far, the signs are good as the development in the likes of Mason Greenwood, Brandon Williams, Marcus Rashford, Scott McTominay, and others are starting to bear fruit.

An opportunity to place himself in such an environment would be a wise move for Kai Havertz and keeping in mind the fresh nature of United’s squad, the Germany international could be a part of a successful side for a prolonged period.

#3 Kai Havertz’s decision to wait until next summer for a fresh challenge.

Previously, the transfer stories suggested that Kai Havertz is interested in a move this summer and is eager to challenge himself in a foreign league(probably English).

Although, fresh reports coming from German football expert Christian Falk suggest that the 21-year-old is ready to spend another season at Leverkusen but wants to sort out his future move this summer.

Given Man United’s concrete interest in luring Jadon Sancho-likely to cost in the region of £90m-£100m-  in the upcoming transfer market, spending heavy money on Kai Havertz would make Solskjaer miss other important targets. Also, an unprecedented economic crisis due to COVID-19 is likely to ensure moderate spending this summer.

In 12 months time, Solskjaer would further cull his fringe players-Andreas Periera and Jesse Lingard, allowing optimum room in the squad to continue his development at Old Trafford.\n
