Manchester United will probably have to look at Sancho alternatives

Manchester United is not in the best place to sign Jadon Sancho right now.

The signing of Jadon Sancho was always bound to be an ambitious one this summer, no matter the size of the club interested. Manchester United is a financial powerhouse and one of the biggest clubs in the world but even they were punching above their weight with the Englishman.

It’s not so much a personal thing. Jadon Sancho never remained quiet about his willingness to leave Dortmund if the right offer came through. It was just a case of Dortmund’s valuation being too high for any club given the current climate of football economics, which is to be understood. BVB have no real reason to sell Sancho, after all.

According to a new report from Sport Buzzer, the German club are growing increasingly confident that they will be able to keep Sancho throughout this summer, due to them receiving no offers for the winger.

More from Manchester United

Of course, there is plenty of time but it’s quite telling that even given the media amplification of the player’s name, no clubs have made a serious enough bid for him. I suppose this just proves that we should always take tabloid talk with a pinch of salt.

One thing can be said for certain, though, and that is United will be lining up alternatives, if they haven’t done already. Red Devil Armada hold high hopes that Marcus Edwards can prove to be the next Sancho in a United shirt but time will tell.

Manchester United fans shouldn’t be too disheartened. Just because they won’t sign Sancho, it doesn’t mean that another club will. For the move to go ahead, a club will have to SERIOUSLY prioritise the signing and it doesn’t seem like this is the case for any player. Sancho was always a luxury player anyway, as I stated when the rumours first came into fruition.

Next. Jadon Sancho a luxury not a necessity for United. dark
