2. Alex Telles

I know I have spoken about Digne’s attacking contribution, but when it comes to attacking full-backs, there aren’t much better than Alex Telles. The 27-year-old Brazil international is absolutely extraordinary at bombing forward and so much so that he has contributed to 14 Liga NOS goals (nine goals, five assists).

He is that good, that I even reckon he could play on the wing without any dip in form. Although, this is not what Chelsea need anyway. He is an excellent free-kick taker, as was Marcos Alonso so if he leaves this summer, Chelsea wouldn’t miss out on that side to his game too much.

Chelsea has been interested in Telles in the past and in all honesty, I’m surprised they haven’t signed him sooner. That said, this could be the best time to sign him since ageing at 27 years old, he is playing some of the best football of his life.

Playing in the Premier League will certainly attract Telles as it could give him the platform he needs to show the world his skills. Having had experience in Brazil, Turkey, Italy and Portugal, he would bring a multitude of expertise and has plenty of time to perfect his craft.

Expect to see plenty of versatility in the Chelsea full-back position if they opt for him rather than Chilwell. I have never been one to be swayed by the “Premier League proven” nonsense.
