1. Nicolas Tagliafico

Much like Alex Telles, all Chelsea fans will be familiar with the name of Nicolas Tagliafico. The Argentine full-back who is currently playing for Ajax Amsterdam has been linked with Chelsea for around a month now, although it’s thought they will face competition from Arsenal for his signature.

This should come as no sweat to the Blues, though, as they clearly possess a lot more spending power and they are a much more promising home to the 27-year-old. Especially if they can offer Champions League football next season.

Tagliafico is also an attacking full-back, so there’s a clear theme in Chelsea’s choices. And who can blame them? This is the modern game, where full-backs are expected to press high and help with attacking play as much as possible, which is why only the best of the best can make it.

Tagliafico is ready for the step up to Chelsea, having put in some excellent displays in the Champions League this season. Tagliafico was even on an immense run of form before COVID-19 put an end to the Eredivisie season.

Still, this means that he has plenty of time to consider his future and if Chelsea is the destination he decides, then the fans should have no complaints. He is the best alternative to Chilwell, I feel.
