Arsenal finally know what they must pay to keep Aubameyang.
And… It’s not good news. According to ESPN, the Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has demanded wages of £250,000 if he is to stay at the club, on a three-year-deal. The contract talks have said to be put on hold for some months now, but the Gabon international is aware that he is entering the final year of his contract so he wants to lay his demands now.
I suppose this is what Arsenal should have expected. I mean, when a player that doesn’t even start (Mesut Ozil) is earning this ludicrous amount, then it’s the least that Aubameyang should expect. After all, he is the most important player in the starting XI as he tends to score on a near-weekly basis.
This week, Aubameyang became the fastest Arsenal player to score 50 Premier League goals, and he even claimed his 51st in the same match against Norwich. The statistics show how pivotal he is and ageing at 31, he is showing little to no signs of deterioration.

Auba is a pacey, prolific goal scorer who always tends to be near the top of the Premier League goal-scoring tally. I would argue he is one of the best strikers in the league, and many Arsenal fans would agree. Whenever the Gunners find themselves in the gutter, the fans can often rely on Auba to pull them out of it.
It was once thought that Chelsea was interested in signing him, but now they have signed Timo Werner I doubt they will be interested. Real Madrid has not changed their stance since they gave Arsenal the deadline, which they are now in a better position to judge in time.
I suppose the ideal situation would be, if Arsenal feels they can’t pay these wages, to sell Ozil and give Aubameyang his wages anyway. Now is not the time to hold onto loose hopes, Ozil’s Arsenal career finished a long time ago so he wouldn’t be a big miss if a miss at all.
Do you think Arsenal should pay Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s wages?
