Manchester United have enjoyed a rich vein of form amid a top-four challenge.

The sight of Liverpool, their arch-nemesis, win their first league title in 30 years must be a painful one. With a 34 point gap between them, Manchester United have a long journey to make before they even stake their claim against their neighbours.

However, things have started to look bright for Man United since the arrival of Bruno Fernandes in January. Reds’ toothless creative force has suddenly transformed itself into an incisive and eye-catching affair.

With the addition of Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford after recovering from their long-term injuries, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a robust attacking setup at his disposal.

Suddenly, the murmurs suggest United among the sides who could mount a league challenge next season, and rightly so- provided an optimum investment is done in the impending summer transfer window.

Red Devils’ need to reinforce the squad come due to an evident gulf of performance between their regular players and their backups. To sustain a serious challenge on all fronts, it’s imperative that a manager is allowed to refresh his starting XI without sacrificing much on quality.

On that note, let us look at four players who could aid Solskjaer’s United in bridging the gap between themselves and league contenders.
