Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side has been in exceptional form of late.

Next season will probably be a little too quick for United after Europa League commitments, but if they finish this season with the momentum they’ve found since lockdown then that theory could change. Some big victories and continuing that unbeaten run between now and end of the season could change United’s title chances next year.

United’s performance in the transfer window will define their next season probably. Paul Scholes felt Manchester United need to sign a centre-back and maybe go for a high profile signing with the likes of Jadon Sancho, the ideal player.

Indeed, Rashford, Martial and Greenwood now have 55 goals between them in all competitions. For context, Liverpool’s formidable front line of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane have 51. So United certainly have the firepower to challenge for next season.

#3 The rise of Manchester United’s youngsters

Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood all scored in a 5-2 win over Bournemouth that extended United’s unbeaten run to 16 games in all competitions.

Even if fans are critical about Solskjaer’s tactics, you have got to credit the man for bringing in academy graduates into the squad and successfully incorporating with the likes of Greenwood, Brandon Williams and Tuanzebe to name a few.

That is not all, the likes of Dean Henderson, Angel Gomes and Ethan Laird are waiting to prove themselves if given a chance.

Solskjaer has also managed to develop Rashford, McTominay and Martial into permanent squad players. If there is anything that Solskjaer needs to do with regards to players is to get rid of the likes of Alexis Sanchez,Lingard, Mata, Pereira and other fringe players to clear the wage bill.

For comparison, Liverpool’s average squad age is 28-29 yrs old while Manchester United’s oldest first-team player is De Gea, who is aged 29. It is a young team, daring to go and the fact that their rivals Manchester City and Liverpool have been winning over the past few seasons will make the players even more determined to get to the top.
