Arteta and Arsenal are in desperate need of new hope…

Under Arsene Wenger, achieving a top 4 finish year-on-year was considered a success.

However, this changed towards the end of his tenure when the fans felt they were settling for top 4 when instead the club should be challenging for the title. Nowadays, the club responsible for The Invincibles find themselves in a battle against mediocrity.

Worse still, they’re currently losing. Overly high wages, players who are dead weight and poor transfers are just some of the reasons Arsenal fans have rather given up this season, were it not for their FA Cup run.

But even if they manage to win the FA Cup this year, anyone who’s been watching Arsenal will know that this would merely be papering over the cracks. I’m sure I speak for every Arsenal fan when I say they would love to finish in a Champions League position again in order to kick-start their team’s rejuvenation and attract high quality players.

Rash decisions, poor defending, lack of concentration, lack of effort and poor finishing – Arsenal players have been accused of all of these throughout this season, and rightly so. If Arteta wants to win over the fans again and start to rebuild the legacy left behind by Arsene Wenger, he needs to be strict but purposeful in his decision making by following these 5 steps…
