A loan deal to La Liga could be in the interest Kepa Arrizabalaga.

At Chelsea, great youth can be found at nearly every turn; the team they’re building, with Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic as standouts, will be formidable in the Premier League for years to come. With Kepa Arrizabalaga, the question is not his talent, but his commitment and temperament.

Rumours continue to swirl around Andre Onana as an enticing candidate to replace Kepa, but giving up on the young Spaniard seems far harsher than is necessary. The Ajax goalkeeper is certainly a talent, but the most expensive goalkeeper in the world can’t be a bust surely?

Should Kepa Arrizabalaga find himself loaned to Sevilla, it may present all sides with a great opportunity in the short and long term futures.

Chelsea: Kepa Arrizabalaga out, Andre Onana in

Were Kepa to be sent back to Spain, he could continue to play first-team football with a highly competitive side; time in his home country could allow for him to mature both as a player and as a person.

He would not have failed in the Premier League; far from it, he’ll have more time to improve coming off of a Europa League Championship for Chelsea’s future. Should he fail to become a part of it after his loan spell, he’ll be available for another high-quality club.

For Chelsea, it seems a good proposal should they be able to land Andre Onana of Ajax; while the money fount seems endless at Chelsea, one cannot assume too much for a club in the midst of a very productive window already.

Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech are already coming to London, while Kai Havertz could very well be joining them before the window closes. This seems a remarkably expensive window as is; can Andre Onana be afforded without selling Kepa?

The answer, under Roman Abramovich, is likely yes; and so, if Ajax is willing to sell, Chelsea must be willing to buy.

Sevilla: A year or two of real hope; Chelsea benefit either way

Sevilla is always in the hunt for Europe; they’ve been Europa League Champions twice while under the watch of Unai Emery; now, years removed from that with Julen Lopetegui as a boss, they could use a real top-notch goaltender.

Kepa Arrizabalaga is that; he has the talent, he has the passion, but can he fuse it all together? Chelsea will loan him suspecting that more time to grow and mature is all that is necessary; for Sevilla, that would give them a year or two with truly world-class talent.

What they do with that talent in Spain and Europe will be telling but it will not be for lack of talent on the roster. Meanwhile, for Chelsea, it would likely allow for the embarrassment of riches to continue unabated.

In adding Andre Onana ahead of Willy Caballero, Frank Lampard adds another young name to the roster; in perhaps a year or so, he will have the choice between Onana and Arrizabalaga. This is a dream scenario, and one that Lampard can only hope will drive the growth of both players.

The implications are great, for all parties; if Chelsea can make it happen, they will. For the progress of both André Onana and Kepa Arrizabalaga himself, it will be best if it can be done. Sevilla will certainly be happy as well.
