4. Dayot Upamecano
Having already signed Werner from RB Leipzig, Chelsea could be set to sign his teammate Upamecano too. At just 21, he shows great promise for the future, as well as being a solid and reliable option at the moment.
The young Frenchman is a natural-born leader, just like Rice, and he has an excellent career ahead of him, which Lampard should take full advantage of.
Out of the current young centre-backs rising through the ranks to become world-class players, Upamecano is the most reminiscent of Koulibaly, both in his very strong build and his style of play.
Upamecano combines pace and power, as well as a good passing range, much like the Napoli defender.
He has only one year left on his contract, which is always helpful for a club trying to buy, and he has a release clause of £50m. In this current market, that is close to a steal for a player so talented.
He is also wanted by Arsenal, though, and could even choose to renew his contract with Leipzig, which would make it very difficult to sign him.
However, he looks ready to take the next step in his career and linking up with his former teammate Werner could be the perfect way to do that.

If Lampard is serious about fixing his defence, which he absolutely should be, he has options to pursue in the transfer market.
