The Welsh winger arrived as a low-profile signing citing long-term dividend from Swansea City last summer for a reported fee of £15m, becoming the maiden signing in Solskjaer’s era.

Despite his emergence, Daniel James was relatively raw to consistently perform at the senior football level. However, the Wales international managed to mask his inexperience and enjoyed a fantastic start to his Old Trafford career, scoring in his first two home games.

But, similar to Man United’s dipping form, Daniel James suffered a blip in his outings, too. But, the former Swansea youngster managed to make the starting level with his immense work-rate and defensive duties.

With an evident need to add a few skills before considered a finished article, Daniel James, with his supersonic pace, has proved to be a constant threat on the counter-attacks. The 22-year-old has been superb in games where United have been compact and looked to attack with the rapid transition.

However, recently, Daniel James has lost his place in the starting XI as the trio of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, and Mason Greenwood have dovetailed excellently in the attack.

Given the arrival of a right-sided winger imminent, Daniel James could see his game time reduced further. Citing this, stories have suggested that the Welshman could be loaned out this summer.

Though, the development has been quashed by the player’s agent, terming James as a ‘Major Part’ of Man United team. Given Solskjaer’s preference for having multiple options to choose his starting lineup from, it would be interesting to see the role Daniel James gets next season.
