With Pjanic and De Jong most likely to start next season for Barcelona, Inter Miami look to sign Chilean Arturo Vidal to MLS

For US Soccer fans who support Barcelona, this would be one of the best transfer rumors with Arturo Vidal, a likely target for Inter Miami who could brighten up Major League Soccer.

Having lost their opening three games in their first-ever campaign, the MLS side are looking at ways to strengthen their squad. He’s aggressive, direct, competitive and will offer support in defensive midfield while also getting forward to add goal threat.

He has won the Bundesliga title in all three seasons while helping Chile win two Copa Americas, 1 La Liga and 1 Spanish Cup for Barcelona. Vidal is someone who has superb technical ability, being a good dribbler and equally able to strike the ball well too.

What does he bring to Inter Miami?

His excellent passing range, outstanding stamina and tireless work out of possession are all attributes which will help his new side’s cause. With 127 bookings and five red cards across 441 appearances as a professional, this statistic implies Vidal is an overly-aggressive player who is unafraid of tackling anyone.

He has 8 goals this season and 3 assists with a pass percentage of around 88% with 36 tackles won. At the age of 33, he will find chances tough to come next season despite featuring regularly for an under-performing Barcelona side. It would be a move which suits Barcelona who are going through a financial crisis and Vidal would be a great addition in terms of quality and energy for the MLS fans and promotion of the league.

The plan is to offload Vidal in the January transfer window so that the Catalans can bring in a younger replacement for him almost immediately and clear the wage bill.
