For Chelsea, it’s not all about the incomings.
There are two keys to a successful transfer window; yes, obviously you must sign the right players, but you also must sell the right players too. I personally feel like it’s the right time for Chelsea to sell Kepa Arrizabalaga, which may be controversial given his immense ability between the sticks. Here are three reasons why I think Chelsea should let go…
3. Lampard doesn’t get along with him
And Frank Lampard isn’t the only Chelsea manager that has gotten the “ick” from working with Kepa, either. I’m sure we all remember the infamous Maurizio Sarri moment at Wembley where the Spanish goalkeeper flat-out refused to be substituted, completely degrading Sarri’s power as manager and making him a laughing stock.
This shows that Kepa has a problem with authority which serves as an issue, even when he is pulling some top-drawer saves. When he refuses to respect a manager, the manager only has one option (when discipline fails, of course), and that is to sell the player.
Lampard is building something special at Chelsea, I’m sure of it. What he needs, though, is all of his players on board. If Kepa isn’t, then the Blues must love him from afar and not take it personal.
