3 reasons why Chelsea must sell Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer

2. The money is essential
For Chelsea, the transfer window is always important. Given the immense support that they receive from the board, which with perspective is very generous, they are always looking to improve with the best players on the market.
This summer, though, it’s even more important that Chelsea get it right. This is because they were unable to give Frank Lampard the proper introduction he would have wanted last summer, given the transfer ban they received from their immoral use of the loan system. That said, Lampard will relish the chance this summer, as personified by the arrivals of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.
And that’s not to mention the Coronavirus pandemic, which has left an uncertain strain on the financial situation. Clubs are picking at scraps, quite literally, to please their fans this summer. Some of the ways to raise funds include part-exchange deals, loans, pre-contract signings and, of course, player sales.
The situation of Kepa is the perfect opportunity for Chelsea to raise some funds. He is a talented goalkeeper and ages at only 25 years old, which is young by a goalkeeper’s standards. There are many clubs in Europe that would be interested in acquiring his services, with Bayern Munich springing to mind given the ageing nature of Manuel Neuer.
