Manchester United have made immense progress since the project restart.

The Coronavirus break served some teams well, most notably Manchester United. Although they did suffer a stumble at the hands of a disappointing draw to Southampton recently, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seems to have prepared his side well for the top four chase and fans are growing in confidence each week. They just need to pick up three points in every match, as no side in their position can afford to drop points like they did last night.

A player that scored in this match and did his best to salvage three points for the Red Devils was Marcus Rashford. In my opinion, if you don’t include the new signing Bruno Fernandes, Rashford has been the most promising player for United this season. He was helped massively by the break allowing his injury to heal and finishing the season.

Many forget that Marcus Rashford is still young. Yes, his progress may have hindered slightly under Jose Mourinho but he is 22 and ready to achieve great things under the tutelage of Ole Solskjaer.

More from Manchester United

This is why it goes without saying that United cannot afford to lose him. especially at this stage of his career. They’ll want to keep him happy for as long as possible, which should be helped by the fact that he’s a boyhood Manchester United fan.

According to a new report from The Independent, though, Paris Saint-Germain are hopeful they can push a deal through for the Mancunian. This has come completely out of the blue, but United fans should have expected it given Rashford’s immense potential and form this season.

Part of Solskjaer’s project rebuild is to put a lot of faith in his young players, which can be seen through the frequent uses of Mason Greenwood, Brandon Williams and of course Rashford. Rashford is the best of the bunch and is paving the way for his young academy teammates, so United really cannot afford to sell him, otherwise, they would suffer the wrath.
