The Chelsea target has finally made his mind up on his next club.

The Kai Havertz conundrum is one that has left Chelsea fans on the edge of their seats. Within just a few weeks, it has already taken a number of twists and turns, leaving fans wondering whether he will actually join or not. But still, Frank Lampard has persisted and his hard work may finally pay off.

According to a new report from kicker, the German midfielder has made up his mind on which club he wants to be playing for next season. The German outlet has claimed that his decision is Chelsea.

Obviously, Chelsea fans will be over the moon with this decision. It shows that the feeling between the player and club it mutual, so personal terms shouldn’t be a problem. However, there is still a lot more for the Stamford Bridge hierarchy to do.

They will need to convince Bayer Leverkusen to let go of the German superstar, who is under contract at the BayArena until 2022. That said, they may be more inclined to sell him now he’s made his priorities clear.

Leverkusen finished fifth in the Bundesliga table this season, which is a good finish for them and it was largely due to the goals and assists which Havertz seemed to contribute on a week-by-week basis.

That said, Leverkusen will not be playing in the Champions League next season unless they win the Europa League, in which they will face Rangers. Chelsea find themselves in a top-four race, which has become more important to reach since Manchester City regained their access into the Champions League next season.

Havertz is a player with a high enough calibre to demand Champions League football. Especially as he prepares for EURO 2021 with Germany, he will be hoping to play at a high stage in preparation for the summer competition.
