Chelsea have found a new option to fill the sticks.

Chelsea are set for a busy transfer window this summer as they have a lot of unanswered questions with a lot of funds to fix these. One of those problems which need to be addressed is the goalkeeper position, with Kepa Arrizabalaga falling more and more out of favour under Frank Lampard.

Having been linked with both Andre Onana and Jan Oblak, this truly shows Frank Lampard’s intent to bring in a reinforcement this summer. However, if those two options failed, he has even gone as far as raising light on a plan C.

According to a new report from Manchester Evening News, Dean Henderson has entered the fray to replace Kepa. Rumour has it, the Blues are even willing to offer huge wages to the Manchester United man, with £170,000 per week the rumoured wage.

This is a huge price to pay considering the transfer fee hasn’t even been discussed yet, however, it’s  big price for a huge player. Henderson has an incredible future ahead of him as the young Englishman, who ages at just 23 years old, has been one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League this season.

In this fairytale season for Sheffield United, they will likely finish in 8th place with just one game left to play. Finishing in the top half of the table did not seem like a real possibility for the Blades this season, but they’ve done it and they’ve taken on some of the big dogs this season, largely thanks to the work of Henderson between the sticks.

As he prepares to fight for a place in Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2021 squad, the talented shot-stopper will hope to get as many minutes on the board as possible. This may not be possible at Old Trafford since for some reason Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still favours David de Gea, despite him being frankly dreadful nowadays.

Do you think Chelsea will sign Dean Henderson this summer?
