2. The targets are at the right level

It’s all well and good having the greatest spending power, but with great power comes great responsibility. Chelsea have a responsibility to ensure that the players they’re signing are of the right calibre and would improve the squad in any way.

It’s true that the Blues have been linked with some incredible names. With Werner and Hakim Ziyech already set to arrive in the new season, the likes of Jan Oblak and Kai Havertz have also been linked, along with Ben Chilwell and their alternatives.

So it would be fair of me to say that Chelsea are targetting in the right positions of the pitch. Their play has clearly been thoroughly analysed and the recruitment team know where best to strengthen.

3. A fresh calibre of young players

One of the main things that’s excited fans this season is the sheer youth quality that Chelsea possess. Perhaps this is another result of their transfer ban, is that they’ve had to rely on youth which has served them well.

The likes of Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, Reece James and Billy Gilmour to name only a few have all had breakout seasons, and it will surely only continue into next season. That’s the good thing; these players aren’t going to deteriorate any time soon and in fact the opposite is true, they will only get better next season.
