Enough is enough, Arsenal need to sell Mesut Ozil as soon as possible.

With the transfer window fast approaching, Arsenal fans are understandably eager to make some signings. However, the key to progress under Mikel Arteta is not only about signing new players, it’s also letting go of some old ones too.

One of the players that I believe simply needs to be sold this summer is Mesut Ozil. Here are 5 reasons why this summer is my limit.

1. The obvious Coronavirus implication

Unfortunately, there’s no escaping from it. The Coronavirus has been a strain on the footballing world, with clubs struggling to make up the funds they would usually, with the huge halt in the middle of the season and the loss of ticket sales.

Arsenal aren’t the wealthiest of clubs at the best of times, so to sell Mesut Ozil would do them a huge economic favour. Mesut Ozil currently earns the most of any Arsenal player, with him earning £350,000 per week (according to Spotrac).

That said, saving this huge amount of money will serve Arsenal well in the transfer window. It’s just a case of whether he is willing to take a pay cut somewhere else, which would be very ironic of him not to considering his performances don’t justify half of this wage.

More on that next.
