2. Lampard gets it spot-on again

Much like the game against United, Lampard had some important tactical decisions to make, and he got them all right.

The most important decision was, of course, dropping Kepa, which worked out perfectly, as well as sticking with Mount on the wing. The young Englishman was crucial to the game’s outcome and once again showed his versatility.

He also kept faith in the 3-4-3 which resulted in a loss to Liverpool last time out, but it worked in his favor this time, completely dominating Wolves and suffocating them with the high press.

Lampard has at times been guilty of preferring the English players over the rest of the team, and he has made some questionable tactical decisions, but there was none of that today.

He went for experience up top and in the middle of the park with Giroud and Jorginho, selecting them over promising youngsters like Abraham and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Lampard once again showed what he has been saying all year: if you train well, you play.

The manager can be ruthless at times, but that is a good trait of a top manager, as he is not afraid to make changes when required, and that has served him well so far this season. Dropping Kepa was risky, but he was fearless.

In what was his most important game as a manager, he showed he can be depended on in key games, as he more than played his part in this critical win. Now, he has the Champions League to look forward to next season, as well as new signings and a personal bonus.
