1. Jan Oblak

It is often debated whether or not Jan Oblak is the best keeper in the world; what is not debated is that he has the quality to instantly transform a side. With him defending their goal, Chelsea’s title hopes are significantly boosted.

The Slovenian has led Atletico Madrid to two Champions League finals and he is a critical part of what is a very well-drilled defensive unit led by tactical genius Diego Simeone.

Even if you don’t watch him in Spain, his stats speak for themselves. Having played 191 league games, he has kept 105 clean sheets, and only conceded 121 goals. In contrast, Kepa has conceded 86 goals and kept just 22 clean sheets in 69 games.

Oblak has conceded about 0.63 goals per game, while Kepa has a whopping 1.25. Also, Oblak has kept a clean sheet in over half of his matches for Atletico, while Kepa has kept a clean sheet in less than a third of his. Truly remarkable.

In truth, most goalkeepers in the Premier League would have better stats than Kepa anyway, but Oblak really is in a league of his own. His signing would be a massive statement of intent on behalf of Lampard and club owner Roman Abramovich.

The only problem is that Atleti clearly want him to stay and won’t negotiate, so their only option is to pay his release clause of €120m. If he can get this transfer done, Lampard will show he absolutely means business.
