#2 Mason Greenwood

A tale of project restart has been the immense work of Mason Greenwood. Upon first returning to action, the young Englishman was scoring goals for fun and it appeared that he had no weak foot. The United fans certainly were impressed with his displays which involved both the killer’s instinct to score goals and the unselfishness to create chances for his peers too.

Greenwood has scored 17 goals across all competitions for United this season, including 10 in the Premier League despite only 12 starts. That said, he is no stranger to the first team and in fact, there’s a substrata of fans that are calling for him to start week in, week out.

He will undeniably be a key factor to United’s bid to win the Europa League in the coming month, but he will have his eyes on next season in the Champions League. It is the competition which has made some of the best young players in recent seasons; Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to name just two.

I am by no means saying that Greenwood is at that level yet, nor will he be for some time. But playing on the big stage and gaining European stardom will serve him well. He will also have his eyes on getting the England call-up from Gareth Southgate as Euro 2021 is looming.
