Arsenal have finally got their priorities in the right place.
If Arsenal’s 14th FA Cup win taught them anything, it was how important their current number 14 really is. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who dons the same number on his jersey as the legendary Thierry Henry, gave the Gunners plenty of nostalgia as he guided his team to another trophy win. He scored two goals against Manchester City and matched this feat against Chelsea in the final.
There are rumours circulating that Aubameyang could leave, but speaking in his post-match interview, Mikel Arteta seemed very confident that the club would tie him down to a new contract. As a manager heading in the right direction, of course he would want this.
According to a new report from the Mirror, the Arsenal board are preparing to offer Aubameyang an offer he might not be able to refuse. They claim that Auba will be offered a three-year contract, with weekly wages of £250,000.

This is obviously good news for Arsenal fans. After Bukayo Saka was tied down to a new contract recently, it shows that the appointment of Mikel Arteta has had an effect on the efficiency of the board when it comes to negotiations.
There was a time with Arsene Wenger and indeed Unai Emery where the Emirates Stadium hierarchy would simply let their contracts wilt. Aaron Ramsey and Alexis Sanchez, two of the best players n the last decade, both left North London for free, which is both financially and emotionally hard to take for fans.
With Aubameyang, Arsenal are sorted for many seasons down the line. While he is not young, he seems to be ageing like a fine wine. He is a rapid forward that loves to get in behind and when he is one-on-one with the goalkeeper, as demonstrated against Chelsea in the final, he tends to possess plenty of aplomb to seal the win.
Do you think Arsenal will tie Aubameyang down to a new contract?
