Mikel Arteta has made many positive changes at Arsenal.

The talk of North London right now seems to be Mikel Arteta. After taking over a difficult job left behind by Unai Emery midway through the season, the Spanish boss has led Arsenal, the club he once captained, to an FA Cup triumph and European competition qualification. Along the way, he has beaten Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea.

These improvements all stem from indidivual player improvements. Here are the three players which have benefitted the most under Mikel Arteta…

3. Emiliano Martinez

Emiliano Martinez has been the focal point of project restart as many thought Arsenal’s season would collapse when Bernd Leno became injurred against Brighton and Hove Albion. However, the always loyal Martinez stepped in and done a stellar job between the sticks.

Martinez has been terrific and he’s barely put a foot wrong since he was introduced to the starting XI. It’s clear how much it means to him too, as he was seen crying emotional tears of joy after helping his team lift the FA Cup trophy, something that means a lot to him given all Arsenal have done for him.

It remains to be seen whether Bernd Leno will reclaim his place in the starting XI once returning from injury but one thing’s for sure, Martinez hasn’t exactly made his return as easy as he would have liked.
