The Brazilian maestro linked with Arsenal certainly has a winning mentality.

If there’s one thing Arsenal need right now, it’s wnners. They have a new manager and they are heading in the right trajectory as a club, so it’s important to keep this positive aura in the transfer window, as Mikel Arteta looks to be prudent with the resources available to him.

The names they have been linked with in recent weeks are phenomenal. Willian and Gabriel Magalhaes are the two Brazilians who seem close to completing the move to the Emirates Stadium. However, their international colleague Philippe Coutinho could soon be joining them.

According to a new report from Daily Star, it won’t be anytime soon, though. While Philippe Coutinho is eager to complete his move to Arsenal, he wants to finish and honour his contract with Bayern Munich, to help them win the Champions League.

This is a testament to Coutinho’s winning character. While things may not have worked out for him entirely, he took the plunge to join La Liga when Liverpool weren’t winning any trophies in the hopes of winning the Champions League. If Bayern Munich can win the competition, which they are certainly favourites to do, then Coutinho will be a very happy bunny arriving at Arsenal.

The Gunners will be playing in the Europa League, which is not exactly flattering considering Coutinho’s standards. However, fans will hope he can use this competition as a gateway into the Champions League should they not manage to qualify through their league position.

Coutinho’s winning mentality alongside his desire to join Arsenal shows that he trusts in Arteta’s project. Watching his former Premier League rivals lift the FA Cup and going against popular belief, he would have seen Arteta’s philosophy in action I’m certain.
