Manchester United won’t let the recent news get to them.

With the transfer window in full swing, Manchester United are hopeful they can get some deals over the line. They had a successful season, qualifying for the Champions League next season and are favourites to win the Europa League this season. However, the Norwegian boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hoping to build on these triumphs for next time out.

Those who follow the United transfer news closely will know that one name tends to crop up more than most, and that is Jadon Sancho. The Englishman who currently plays for Borussia Dortmund is a prolific and efficient talisman, so of course Solskjaer is keen to get his hands on him.

However, recent news would claim that United won’t have it easy. The BBC confirmed that the Borussia Dortmund sporting director has claimed he will remain a Dortmund player next season. However, according to the Daily Mail, this isn’t going to stop United as they will continue to push for a move anyway.

More from Manchester United

To me, this just seems like United failure to accept defeat. Many people may see this as a good trait as it often is, but in this context, United should simply move on otherwise they’re going to look desperate and that’s not a good look.

Besides, it’s not like Sancho is irreplaceable anyway. You cannot grive a player you never had in the first place. I always said that Jadon Sancho would be a luxury player for United and I stand by it, they never had any real necessity to buy him in the first place.

Don’t get me wrong, Sancho is an amazing player and he would provide many goals and assists to the United frontline. However, there are other positions which need strengthening for United first. Firstly, they need to address their goalkeeper conundrum because they cannot afford to keep playing David de Gea blindly given the number of times he has screwed them over this season. Secondly, they need to sign a centre back to partner Harry Maguire.
