Arsenal will not feel too hard done by if they lose their Frenchman.

The close followers of Arsenal transfer news may be aware that Alexandre Lacazette is subject to a move away. Various newspapers, including Calciomercato, report that clubs are invested in the possibility of signing him. The Italian outlet claims Juventus want to sign him, but Atletico Madrid are also in the running.

With Willian likely arriving this summer, this leaves little to no room for Lacazette in the Arsenal frontline. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will take up the central role in the attack, with Willian either playing as a left-winger or, if Laca is lucky, as a central attacking midfielder.

However, Arsenal are now showing interest in a winger, which could signal the end of Lacazette’s tenure at the Emirates Stadium. The Sun have claimed that Arsenal are eyeing a potential £25m move for the Ajax star Quincy Promes. I would assume the fee for Lacazette would cover Promes’ fee.

More from Arsenal FC

Promes has had a very productive season with the Netherlands giants this season. Across all competitions, he has scored sixteen goals and provided four assists, which is exactly what the Gunners need in their frontline as they look to add to their goalscorers.

Promes ages at 28 years old so he is playing in the prime stages of his career and given how he has been performing for Ajax, he is certainly ready for a move to Arsenal. Having starred in the Champions League this season, he could be a key figurehead in Arteta’s mount for UCL qualification next season.

Should the Gunners sign Quincy Promes, Willian and a centre back, then they would be in a good place to take on the new season, Philippe Coutinho would be an amazing bonus to have also, obviously.
