Barcelona: The path forward to a return to greatness

Barcelona needs a new president. Me.

Like you, I was deeply saddened to see Lionel Messi, our captain and arguably the best player in history with his hands on his knees, unable to comprehend the disaster that he had helped to create.

I know that the election of the club president is not until next summer. Still, I am calling for the current president Josep Maria Bartomeu to resign immediately and call for new elections.

His decisions over the last three years have been irrational and horrendously focused on the short term.

Our manager, Quique Setién, if he has not already been sacked, should immediately resign. It would be the most honorable thing to do for a manager of his stature.

The club should apologize to him for putting him into an untenable position in the first place.

Finally, Lionel Messi should also give up the captain’s armband. His control of the decision-making process at Barcelona explicitly and indirectly has also led the team to the bottom of the well in Silence of the Lambs.

The Blaugrana is in a crisis on the field, in the dressing room, the boardroom, and, most importantly, philosophically.

I present a new philosophy, a new vision for the club’s future, and that is why I am running for president of Futbol Club Barcelona.

If a reality TV star can become president of the United States, then I can become the chief executive of a football club. Fun times!
