Barcelona 6-1 PSG (March 2017)

Long before Barcelona, the tag of ‘bottlers’ belonged to the Parisiens, who had developed a reputation for choking in big games in Europe. The infamous remontada of 2017 further cemented this status as the Catalans wiped off a 4-0 deficit in the most spectacular fashion, with Neymar’s world-class performance eventually convincing PSG to break the bank for his signatures that summer.

Liverpool 4-0 Barcelona (May 2019)

3-0 down to Barcelona, and without two of your best forwards in Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino for the second-leg, it just wasn’t meant to be, right? Well, turns out the Reds just tore the script apart and romped to an emphatic 4-0 win as the Blaugrana were stunned like deer caught in the headlights of a car. A brace each from Divock Origi and substitute Georginio Wijnaldum squished Messi’s dream of bringing the big ol’ ears back to the Camp Nou.

Barcelona 2-8 Bayern Munich (August 2020)

To say Barca were beaten would be a massive understatement, for they as an institution, were horribly exposed, torn apart, and buried into the ground. Bayern were rampant from the get-go, and despite being found out at the back early on, comfortably sailed towards the biggest ever victory in the knockout stages of the competition. To rub salt on their wounds, Philipe Coutinho, who’s currently on loan from Barcelona, put the final nail in the coffin with two late strikes as the Catalans were shaken to the soul, shipping eight goals for the first time since 1946!
