Arsenal edge closer to finalising Aubameyang’s new deal

The nervous wait for Arsenal fans could soon come to an end.
Signing up to be an Arsenal fan means signing up for a lot of stress. This is because the club, both on and off the pitch, tend to like leaving things until the last minute. Still, you’ve got to love them.
A player that we’ve grown incredibly fond of in the last few seasons is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Gabon international who signed from Borussia Dortmund in 2018 has been our main talisman since signing and he really was Arsene Wenger’s parting gift.
Two years on and the prolific striker is nearing the end of his Emirates Stadium contract. He still has a year left on his contract but given the club’s track record with negotiating in the last few seasons, the fans rightfully want to see him tied down as soon as possible.

According to a new report from the Daily Mail, Arsenal are now incredibly close to finalising the deal. In fact, the English outlet claims that now, formal paperwork is being drawn up which I would assume means pen can be put to paper.
This is a huge relief for the fanbase. As Mikel Arteta looks to advance forward with his project, Aubameyang is by far and away the most important player. It was shown in the FA Cup semifinal and final that you simply cannot replace his goals, and he is a real privilege to Arsenal.
Once this news is confirmed and announced, Arsenal can begin to make more moves in the transfer window. I predict that a number of targets have been poised in their decision until they know for sure that Aubameyang will be at the club next season. This could also mean that some exciting signings are set to be made if Aubameyang is confident enough to commit his future to the club.
