Arsenal hope to complete centre back deal in the coming days

Arsenal are not resting in their pursuit of this Brazilian defender.
Arsenal, over the last few seasons, have become accustomed to the samba flair. This summer, Willian joined both Gabriel Martinelli and David Luiz but he may not be the only Brazilian to join Emirates Stadium this summer.
According to a new report from ESPN, Arsenal are hopeful they can push a deal for Gabriel Magalhaes through in the coming days. The 22-year-old is also subject to interest from Everton, so Arsenal must be efficient in their negotiations.
Ever since Mikel Arteta arrived as manager, he has made one thing his priority; to fix Arsenal’s defensive issues. This has been shown in the improved performances of David Luiz and Shkodran Mustafi. It’s also an added bonus that William Saliba will be arriving in the new season.

I’ve had issues with Arsenal’s defensive signings in recent times since it seems like they never hit the nail on the head. They either sign old, washed up defenders like Lichtsteiner and Sokratis or young players with limited experience like Chambers and Mavropanos.
This is why it’s good to see the Gunners signing Saliba and perhaps Magalhaes; both are which have plenty of time to develop but are already playing at a high level in their career. It’s simply the perfect balance and fans should be excited at the future prospects.
Football London put forward a really good argument as to why Gabriel is perfect for the Gunners. It’s the work off the ball that makes him stand out, since he has great spatial awareness and hid footballing intelligence allows him to accurately predict what the attacker is going to do next.
This mentality has been instilled into Shkodran Mustafi recently since he is now less likely to dice into challenges without thinking. This shows Mikel Arteta’s philosophy in action.
