Chelsea love their German players, that’s for certain.
Chelsea have done it. They’ve gone the whole season without signing any players and still managed to qualify for Champions League football. Yes, they may have been embarrassed by Arsenal and Bayern Munich at the end of the season, but overall it was an adequate season for Frank Lampard and company.
Now that he is able to splash the cash again courtesy of the always helpful Chelsea board, he’s not letting it go to waste. He signed Hakim Ziyech and made Timo Werner the most expensive German player of all time. But now, he could also be making him the second most expensive German player of all time.
According to news from Bild, this is because Chelsea are nearing a record-breaking deal for Kai Havertz. It’s thought that he will smash Werner’s transfer fee and a deal is hoping to be made within the next 10 days.

And you can’t say he doesn’t deserve it, either. He is one of the most impressive young players in the world currently and he’s only going to improve. Scoring a nice 18 goals and providing eight assists across all competitions for Bayer Leverkusen this season, he is certainly ready for an EPL move.
Chelsea have never been the type to shy away from spending the big bucks. In fact. many would argue that they owe a large portion of their success in recent times to having a board that’s willing to invest a lot of money in transfer windows.
Havertz will look to dominate the midfield and act as the anchor between the attack. He is very technically gifted and he loves to create as well as getting on the score sheet himself. One thing’s for sure; with Havertz comes goals, whether he himself scores them or he provides the magic touch for his teammates to score.
Do you think Chelsea will sign Kai Havertz?
