Chelsea lost Willian to Arsenal in a free transfer this summer.
Losing one of your star players is never nice but losing them for free hits even harder. Believe me, as an Arsenal fan, I know this feeling all too well. This is why it was nice, for once, to be on the good end of the dreaded transfer situation. We signed Willian from Chelsea this summer but as I expected, it’s not taken the Blues long to find their replacement for him.
According to a new report from Calciomercato, Chelsea are interested in signing Federico Bernadeschi from Juventus. However, they will face competition from Atletico Madrid should they wish to pursue him.
Times are very uncertain at Juventus currently. With Maurizio Sarri leaving, Andrea Pirlo has taken his place. Pirlo is thought to be the right man to steer this club to greatness because he knows the Serie A and the Champions League like no other man.

Pirlo is a serial winner and he will stop at nothing to get his hands on silverware. This is a good thing, of course, but the weaker players in the Juve squad will be fearing his appointment. I’m by no means saying Bernadeschi is weak, but it remains to be seen whether he will bind with Pirlo’s philosophy.
Bernadeschi is a versatile player, which gives him the edge in any transfer window. Potential suitors won’t have a problem fitting him into the XI as he can either play in the midfield or out on the wing. In my personal opinion, he does look strongest when he is playing as a right-winger.
Chelsea have a lot of strength in the attack. The new signing and talisman Timo Werner will partner Christian Pulisic, so there is a lot of creativity there. Signing Bernadeschi would only add to this creativity as he is a great crosser of the ball and I feel like Werner would thrive off his service.
