Manchester United set to finally give up on Jadon Sancho
By Kian Long
It was always a pipe dream for Manchester United, let’s be honest.
It never hurts to be optimistic. In fact, Manchester United’s confidence in this transfer window is telling of the positive aura that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has instilled in the club since taking over as manager.
However, there does reach a point where it’s important to be prudent rather than over-confident. Being too stubborn and refusing to take no for an answer is only going to eat away at time, that time which could be spent pursuing other players and strengthening in positions of need.
One player that Manchester United have had a hard time with this transfer window is Jadon Sancho. While the player himself has not blocked a move, it seems like his club Borussia Dortmund are reluctant to sell him. And why wouldn’t they be? He is one of the best young players in the world and they have no reason to sell the Englishman.

According to a new report from the Mirror, Manchester United could finally be ready to move on and give up on this pursuit. It’s thought the Red Devils are unwilling to match Dortmund’s hefty £108m asking price in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic and will instead look at alternatives.
There are plenty of alternatives to signing Sancho, of course. Douglas Costa could be on his way out of Juventus, for starters. The Brazilian who has been linked with United in the past is an incredible player who just needs the right stepping stone in order to return to his former glory days. See more Sancho alternatives in the next post.
To conclude, I do believe it’s a good thing that United are giving up their pursuit of Sancho. While many clubs would have taken no for an answer at first rejection, United persisted and tried to get their man in the end. They are simply beng efficient with money, this is not a loss for them.
