Manchester United boldly prioritise this signing over Lionel Messi
By Kian Long
Manchester United haven’t let the Messi situation stop them…
Chances are unless you’ve been living under a rock, you will know all about what is happening with Lionel Messi. The Barcelona man will leave the club this summer, and he has more clubs chasing after his name than ever before. Of course, Manchester United was one name to crop up, since they are one of the wealthiest in the world.
And according to a new report from Express, the Red Devils do have the money to sign Messi if they wanted to. However, the report claims that they still have their heart set on signing Jadon Sancho, so they will not pursue a move for Messi this summer since his wages are extortionate.
Even if this leaves him to sign for a direct rival such as Manchester City, you have to honour United’s decision here. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is in this for the long run, and thus wants to sign players that will benefit him in the long run. It’s also the best decision financially since we all remember what happened when Alexis Sanchez first signed on extortionate wages.

Messi is a great player and in my opinion, the greatest to ever do it. However, in this instance, the cons outweigh the pros. Jadon Sancho is an up and coming player who is mature and talented enough to build an attack around already.
Lionel Messi in the EPL would be a sight to behold. I’m predicting that this is his favoured location since Pep Guardiola and him have a good history together. Even as a neutral fan, I would love to see Messi playing in England’s top flight. It would give him the perfect opportunity to prove he is the undisputed GOAT.
