It’s thought that the former Arsenal loanee will return for a season.
Arsenal fans are looking forward to a much better season next time out, as their last was topsy-turvy to say the last. The first half of the season was dreadful, largely thanks to Unai Emery stil being at the helm and taking the club on a downwards trajectory. However, when Mikel Arteta took charge, things soon began to improve and now the Gunners are in a much better place to take on the new season.
One of the players who has helped Mikel Arteta to get this project in the works is Dani Ceballos. Ceballos was out for a large part of the season through injury but if anything, the lockdown in England was a blessing in disguise for him as it allowed him to recover in time for the end of Arsenal’s season.
Ceballos’ goal against Sheffield United put the Gunners through to the FA Cup semifinal, in which he bossed it against Manchester City and was also incredibly helpful to the final win against Chelsea. Long story short, Ceballos finished his loan spell on a real high.

Which is why you can understand Arteta’s determination to keep him at the club, even if it is only for another season. He has earned it. However, the Real Madrid board were playing hardball for a long time, so it was difficult for the Gunners to convince them to loan out Ceballos again.
According to the Guardian, though, Arsenal fans could get some good news this week. It’s thought that the Spaniard is poised to renew his loan contract at the Emirates Stadium, which would see him spend another season in an Arsenal shirt.
No prizes for guessing, but it was Arteta that was influential to the Spanish player’s decision. It’s just another sign that Arteta is the right man for Arsenal, the fact that he can convince top quality players to sign for the club.
Do you think Arsenal will keep Dani Ceballos?
