Chelsea rightfully aren’t going to lose their midfielder for cheap.
While the fans will understandably focus on all the signings, it’s also important for Chelsea to sell some of their players. Otherwise, obviously, there won’t be enough room for the new players and the Blues don’t want to be housing deadwood as they look to mount a title challenge next season.
One player who has been the focal point of speculation over the last number of months is N’Golo Kante. The French midfielder who was once dubbed as one of the best in the world has had a hard time living up to this tag in recent seasons, largely due to a change in role.
Do not get me wrong, Kante is still an immensely talented midfielder and a real asset to Chelsea. However, with Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic and Mason Mount now in the first-team, Kante isn’t as “essential” as he once was; Kai Havertz is also imminent to sign, it is thought.

With that, you can understand Chelse being open to selling him. He would be a big, in fact, huge loss, but the money would be worthwhile as the Blues can reinvest in their squad, as they are thought to be doing with Havertz.
According to a new report from Express though, Chelsea won’t let him go for cheap. It’s reported that the club will ask for no less than £80m for his services; this is around about the same price they will likely pay for Havertz.
Kante is known for being a player with a great workload. He always seems to be in the right place at the right time to win back possession for his club.
Having won the EPL with both Leicester City and Chelsea, while also winning the World Cup and the Europa League, the French midfielder certainly has plenty of experience at the top level. This will serve him well in his potential next venture, which Express think could be Inter Milan.
