#7 David Soria (Getafe) – 17 clean sheets

With 37 goals conceded, Getafe had the fourth-best defensive record in La Liga last season, and one of the key factors behind it was Soria, who truly came on his own. He played in every top-flight game, proving his worth with his athleticism and crucial blocks. A graduate of Real Madrid’s youth academy, he made up for his lack of concentration with excellent distribution skills and vital clearances.

#6 Ederson Moraes (Manchester City) – 18 clean sheets

After his Claudio Bravo experiment failed, Pep Guardiola bet his top dollar on Ederson, and the Brazilian proved to be a bang for the buck. He’s been at the heart of City‘s trophy-laden last few years and was also the safest pair of hands in the Premier League in the 2019/20 season, keeping 16 clean sheets.

He’s known for his ability to sniff danger and charge outside his area to claim high balls, whilst also help the Skyblues break on the counter quickly with a long and accurate throw or kick.  The ex-Benfica custodian also maintained a commendable 87% passing accuracy, a testament to how important he is to build from the back.

#5 Rui Patricio (Wolverhampton) – 19 clean sheets

Wolves made a spate of new signings upon getting promoted back to the Premier League in 2018, of which one of the best remains Patricio. In a season that spanned for almost a year, the Portuguese ‘keeper was consistent throughout, making 91 saves and keeping 13 clean sheets in the league as he too played every game of the campaign and also had a major role in the run-up to the last 8 of the Europa League.

#4 Keylor Navas (Paris St.Germain) – 19 clean sheets

Despite his best efforts, Navas was grossly underrated at Real Madrid. He could never win over the club or its fans alike and sought pastures anew with PSG last summer, where he proved himself once again.

The Costa Rican was in top form throughout, diving into saves left, right, and centre as PSG marched all the way to the Champions League finals. What’s more impressive is, he managed to keep 19 clean sheets in just 36 games.
